Charles and Brenden Galloway
Charles is a retired, life-long teacher and counselor of young people and their families in the United States and Canada. His non-fiction book PSYCHOLOGY FOR LEARNING AND TEACHING was published by McGraw-Hill, N.Y., and his articles on the same topics have been published by various educational journals. Brenden, a young adult, was in ninth grade when he and his grandfather began the research for the book that they are currently working on, NOT QUITE WHITE. The book is a middle-grade novel set in 1944 and based on Charles' childhood. The novel tells the story of a young black family that moves into an all-white neighborhood and the resulting friendship between an old white neighbor lady and thirteen-year-old Charles.

Brent Hartinger
Brent Hartinger has been writing books for fifteen years, but didn't sell any of them until the summer of 2001. Since then, he has sold nine novels. Dr. Darcy Luadzers, Ph.D. is an AASECT (American Association of Sex Therapists, Educators, and Counselors)-certified sex therapist. She has been a therapist for 20 years, working with teens, couples, and individuals, in both general psychotherapy and as a sex therapist. As an actress, Tiffani Amber Thiessen has proven her talent from comedy to drama in a variety of film and television roles. From Woody Allen's comedy, "Hollywood Ending," to "Beverly Hills 90210," Thiessen's charisma has kept her career moving constantly forward and has gained her the adoration of millions internationally.
Raised in Long Beach, California, Thiessen began modeling at the age of eight and soon went on to star in the television series "Saved By the Bell" for five seasons. At the same time, she made her feature film debut in "Son In Law," opposite Pauly Shore. In 1993, she showed her range when Aaron Spelling cast her in "Beverly Hills 90210," where she portrayed multi-layered "Valerie Malone" for five seasons.

Stephen Unwin, Ph.D.
Author of THE PROBABILITY OF GOD: A SIMPLE CALCULATION THAT PROVES THE ULTIMATE TRUTH (Crown, 2003). In this amusing and accessible book, he applies rigorous mathematical methods to balance the theological, philosophical, and scientific arguments for and against the existence of God, ultimately producing the numerical probability that God exists. Currently working on a Young Adult fantasy novel. Unwin resides in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and two sons.
Stephen Unwin was born in the north of England in 1956. He attended Chetham's Hospital School of Music and studied piano. Stephen then obtained his Bachelor's degree in physics with first class honors from Imperial College, University of London, becoming an Associate of the Royal College of Science. In 1980, he received his doctorate in theoretical physics from the University of Manchester for his research in the field of quantum gravity the attempt to reconcile Einstein's General Theory of Relativity with quantum theory.
For two additional years, he conducted research in quantum gravity at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, making significant contributions to the field and publishing numerous research papers. On leaving academia, he became a Senior Scientific Officer with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, and developed risk analysis methods that continue to be used internationally in the safety assessment of nuclear power generating stations. In 1984 he was assigned the diplomatic post of Technical Attache to the U.S. Department of Energy, stationed at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico. In this position, he facilitated information exchange between the governments of the U.K. and the U.S. in the field of nuclear accident risk analysis.
Stephen became a permanent resident of the U.S. in 1987 and took the position of Group Manager at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Long Island, New York. Since that time, he has founded risk management divisions at Battelle Memorial Institute and Science Application International Corporation. He has been a principal consultant to the Canadian government, helping establish national regulation for nuclear power safety. In 1996, he formed his own consulting company, which continues to serve the nuclear power, chemical process, and oil and gas industries.

A high school creative writing teacher, Joan Verniero has written a young adult, coming-of-age story, 98 % UPTIGHT, a middle grade novel called MAX THE STEER ROPER, and a picture book, SLED DOG TREE. She has published several collections of folk tale retellings (all for Black Dog & Leventhal).
